SUBSETS OF MAST CELL IN CHRONIC REJECTION OF RENAL ALLOGRAFTS

OBJECTIVE To define the mast cells subsets in chronic rejection of renal allogreft．
METHODOLOGY This study included ten renal transplanted patients (7 males and 3 females)aged between 24 and 45 years and the cause of uremia was glomeruloneplritis．The allografts survival were between 2 and 7 years．Paraffin embedded sections of these grafts were stained with anti-human Tryptase mAb Biotin-avidin-HRP．The histology of mast cells in the chronically rejected renal grafts was investigated by using specific immunohistochemical assay with anti-human Trytase mAb（a tetrameric serine proteinase of mast cells）．
CONCLUSION There were 3 kinds of mast cells in the chronic rejection renograft，in which various proteinase was shown in the cell plasm．Distinct mast cells may paly a role in allograft rejective reaction．
