An EPQ Investigation of Armed Patrols in the Chinese People's A rmed Police Soldiers

【Abstract】 Objective: To understand personality of arme d patrols of the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces and to provide data for psychological research on a rmed forces. Methods: A total of 1 013 armed patrols were assessed by the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) revised in China. Results: The armed patrols had lower scores of the P and N subs cales, and higher scores of the E subscales . Scores on the L Subscale were found to be higher in the armed patrols as com pared to the national norms. There was also significant difference from the PLA soldiers in terms of E subscales and emotional stability. The personality of armed patrols of the Chinese People's Armed Police Forces showed Extrovert (55.2 %), introvert (29.5%) ambivalent (15.5%), introvert tendency (0.5%), and extrove rt tendency (0.3%). There was a majority of emotional stable cases (50.5%), as compared to unstable (35.3%), medium (13.4%), unstable tendency(0.5%), stable t endency(0.3%) cases. Conclusion: The armed patrols of the Chinese Peoples Armed Police Forces have their unique characteristics of person ality.
