Influence of Untraviolet Blood Irradiated and Oxygenation on Magnesium content in Rabbits with
spinal Cord Injury Shen Cailiang,Jiang Shu,Dong yinghai,et al.First Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical university,Hefei
Abstract Objective Ultraviolet blood irradiated and oxygenation(UBIO) was explored in treatment of
spinal cord injury. Methods Spinal cord injury was incurred in rabbits by Allen's method. The concentration
of magnesium in blood and spinal cord was measured by ion-selective electrodes and atomic absorption
spectroscopy. Results Total magnesium concentration in blood and spinal cord was decreased in the injury
group, but that in the therapeutic group increased. The free magnesium concentration in blood of the therapeutic
group was the same as that of the injury group. Conclusion UBIO improves blood circulation by decreasing
blood viscosity, enhances energy metabolism by raising energy level of molecule, and antagonizes out-flow of
magnesium by blocking calcium channel, all these for correcting imbalance of ions in injury segment.UBIO has
