Study on Immunohistochemistry of Fungal Opportunistic Infections

【Abstract】 Objective To establish histopathological methods which can identify opportunistic fungi in tissues. Methods PAS stain and immunostaining on the specimens from infected mice and clinical specimens were employed. Polyclonal anti- Candida albicans, polyclonal anti- Crpytococcus neoformans and monoclonal anti- Aspergillus antibodies were used in immunostaining. Results Candida albicans, Crpytococcus neoformans and Aspergillus spp in infected tissues could be specifically identified by immunostaining. No statistically significant differences of sensitivity between immunostaining and PAS stain were found. Conclusion Immunostaining is a reliable method to identify fungi in infected tissues, it might be used in the diagnosis of deep mycosis.

念珠菌、隐球菌和曲霉是常见的条件致病真菌,它们引起的感染呈逐年上升趋势。组织病理学是重要的诊断方法之一,传统的HE染色和PAS染色仅通过形态学鉴定组织中的真菌,因而具有一定局限性,免疫组化染色根据真菌抗原性不同鉴定组织中真菌,提高了真菌鉴定的特异性和病原学诊断水平[1]。
