The study of puerperal health behaviors in different provinces

【Abstract】Objective To learn the present conditions of health behavior and health care during puerperium in three provinces. To compare different health behaviors in different areas. To explore the factors relating to health behaviors. Method A field work was conducted including 2352 women in three provinces.Result The percentages of puerperal health behaviors in Jiangsu, Shanxi and Guizhou are: washing hair 26.4%, 38.8%, 19.8%; brushteeth 52.4%, 37.1%, 41.6%; washing-perineum 83.3%, 26.9%, 64.0%; normal acting 76.9%, 76.9%, 74.3%; open windows 69.4%, 61.9%, 70.6%. The percentages of puerperal visits are: 71.1%, 55.7% and 69.9%. The median of puerperal visit is 3. Conclusion The present conditions of puerperal health behaviors in some countries in three provinces are poor, and there are remarkable differences in the different provinces. The quality and content of the postpartum visits need to be improved. There are many factors related to puerperal health behaviors. It is necessary to find direct and practical means to intervene in puerperal health behaviors.
